This printer is not to be confused with the P8 (no e ).
Danger Will Robinson: Despite this being a PCL printer,
there is a slight annoyance. When the printer goes into
power saver mode, any Windows-based access over a network
requires that the printer be "woken up" before any serious
printing can be done. This is, I think, because the LaserJet
4 doesn't have a "sleep" mode. Anyway, give it a kick with a
text-based editor (like PFE from Windows) and then it
works fine. Accessing the controls for the printer to turn
Power Save mode off permanently can only be done from Windows,
AFAIK so I'm still looking for a way around this.
Also, toner cartridges are very expensive (3 carts == 1 P8e)!
